Setting up a daily automatic update of Transmission's IP blocklist in Synology DiskStation NAS DSM (tutorial, guide, instructions)

This guide allows Synology community package Transmission users to improve their safety by planning an automatic daily update of this BitTorrent client's IP blocklist.

🔺 Make sure you already checked the option and loaded a blocklist in the client options 😉

Go to the DSM control panel's Task Scheduler:

 Create > Scheduled Task > User-defined script

 The task's name is not important but it must be marked 'active':

 No need to change anything here:

In the third tab, type your e-mail address, copy-paste the following script in the bottom field and put your usual Transmission connexion credentials before validating with the 'OK' button:

/volume1/@appstore/transmission/bin/transmission-remote --auth ID:Password --blocklist-update
